Riga Technical Univers(RTU) is the only university of technology in Latvi, internationally recognized European level university offering high-class academic and professional study programmes. The RTU offers academic and professional study programmes at three levels (cycles) – undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies, which corresponds to the guidelines set forth in the Bologne conference declaration on creating a single higher education space in the European Union.

How to apply

For your application to be successful, you will need to satisfy RTU general entry requirements.  Pre-condition for being accepted at RTU is the evidence of authenticity for applicant’s previous education documents and their eligibility for undergraduate, graduate and research (PhD) studies.

International students are required to submit the following documents to the RTU Department of Foreign Students  to apply for study programs:
•    A passport copy (the page with the applicant’s photo);
•    One recent passport size photograph;
•    Copies of certificates, transcripts of your qualifications, proving not less than 12 years of school education and satisfying the conditions to be enrolled to a university in your home country;
•    An application form  (in full);
•    An application fee of USD 120 (non-refundable). We do not accept bank drafts (cheques).
Application forms for undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate programmes can be downloaded from the application file (application pdf). Completed forms should be returned to the RTU Department of Foreign Students either by e-mail or by post.

Student Scholarships and Exchanges

A limited number of tuition scholarships providing exemption from tuition fee will be available to international students for some of the Master degree programmes and PhD degree programmes.

The most popular education programme among RTU students is the EU educational programme Erasmus. Students who come to study at RTU in the frames of exchange programmes or bilateral agreements for one semester up to one academic year, do not pay tuition fee.
