ntnu logo Norwegian University of Science and TechnologyMost commonly known as NTNU, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology which is located in Trondheim is the second largest university in Norway. Even though its name suggests that its primary study programs focus on science and technology, it also has faculties and departments that concentrate on other fields. The Norwegian University of Science and Technology is a host to around 20,000 students.

How to apply

Students can choose between study programs taught in English and Norwegian. For a complete overview of these study programs click here. As is the case with all public universities in Norway, students are not subject to tuition fees. Students wishing to apply for a study program in Norwegian have to prove their Norwegian language proficiency.
The application procedure for undergraduate and ordinary Master’s degree programs is done through NUCAS, the Norwegian Universities and Colleges Admission Service (Samordnet opptak).  Students who wish to enroll in the international Master’s and PhD programs apply directly to the university. Students can apply for a number of student exchange programs and visit the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. NTNU is a member of the European Commission’s Erasmus and Leonardo da Vinci programs, as well as Nordplus.
Exchange students can come to NTNU as Free Movers, if the university they study at has not signed a formal exchange agreement with NTNU.
