Reykjavik University
Private Reykjavik University is a center for international teaching and research collaboration across the Atlantic. The Reykjavik University also offers programs for executives, specialists and students outside traditional undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs.
Around 400 teachers currently work at the school in addition to almost 40 guest lecturers from foreign countries. 700 courses per year are currently offered at RU and over 500 at the undergraduate level and approximately 160 at the graduate level, all of which fully take into account the needs of both students and the economy.
How to apply

All prospective exchange students are nominated by their home University. After your nomination has been sent to RU, you and your University´s coordinator will be sent an email with a weblink with the online application form.
Once you get this email you will need to follow the next steps:
Meet the APPLICATION DEADLINE as follows:
a. May 1st for admission to Fall Semester starting in September of the same year
b. November 1st for admission to Spring Semester starting in January of the following year

Student Scholarships and Exchanges
Reykavík University awards grants to outstanding freshmen for their first semester at RU. The grant covers the tuition fee for the first semester of the study.
• Everyone applying for admission at RU who attained an average grade of 8,0 in their matriculation exam can apply for the grant.In order to apply for the grant one first has to apply for admission to RU.
• Only those planning to complete 3 years BS /& BA study can apply for the grant.
• Selection of those receiving the grant will be based on the outcome of the matriculation exam and an evaluation of it as a preferable preparation for the study being applied for. Furthermore a personal statement in the application will be taken into account.
• Applicants for the grant will receive a reply in the middle of June for fall semester and in the middle of December for spring semester.
• The selection committee consists of the Director of Teaching Affairs, the Director of Student Affairs and the Executive Director of Human Recourses and Quality.
The purpose of the grant is to encourage outstanding students to an ambitious study and to help them to dedicate themselves fully to their study. Click here to apply. The deadline for application is December 15th for spring semester and June 1st for fall semester.
Freshmen grants in Master studies
Reykjavík University awards grants for outstanding students at masters level for their first semester at RU. The grant for master students covers the tuition fee for the first semester of the study.
In order to apply for the grant one first has to apply for an admission to RU.
Selection of students receiving the grant will be based on grades in previous university studies and how relevant those are for the programme applied for. Furthermore work experience will be taken into consideration, as well as projects that the applicant has participated in and a personal statement in the application.
The grant applies to all studies at masters level at RU being at least 90 ECTS with the exception of MBA and MPH Ex.
Applicants for the grant will receive a reply in the middle of June for fall semester and in the middle of December for spring semester.
The selection committee consists of the Director of Teaching Affairs, the Director of Student Affairs and the Executive Director of Human Recourses and Quality.
