Grants for young scientists at CERN

The UNESCO Office in Venice is pleased to announce the availability of 3 research grants for young scientists at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland. The aim of this programme is to encourage young scientists from South Eastern Europe to pursue scientific careers in the field of basic and engineering sciences. Each grant amount is of 9.000 US$ for 3 months and refers to the specialisation field of High Energy Physics.

In order to submit an eligible application, candidates should be/have:
- under 28 years old;
- studying as Master, PhD candidates in the aforementioned discipline;
- excellent spoken / written English;
- citizens of the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina or Macedonia.

After the evaluation of the selected candidates’ performance during the initial 3-months research activity, CERN envisages to offer the opportunity of an extension of up to 3 months of the UNESCO fellowship.

Candidates should submit the following documents: Curriculum Vitae, a Letter of motivation and one letter of recommendation by candidate’s professor and/or academic tutor.
