How to apply
The admission period for the winter semester starts in early July and ends in late October. The application deadline for the winter semester for non-EEA nationals is September 1. The admission period for the summer semester starts in early February and ends in late March. The application deadline for the winter semester for non-EEA nationals is February 1.
There are different admission policies depending on the student’s citizenship and the country of issue of his/her secondary school leaving certificate/university diploma. International students fall under the category – Group 3, which includes Austrians and other EEA nationals holding a non-EEA school le
aving certificate/university diploma, other nationalities, and stateless applicants.
These applicants should submit an Application for Submission which can be downloaded from the official website of the University. It should be submitted during the Admission Period, either in the winter or the summer semester of the school year. Additionally, applicants need to submit authenticated translations of the documents (the secondary school leaving certificate or university degree diploma), admission statement to the University, their curriculum vitae and evidence of their proficiency in German. The University of Innsbruck offers German classes for non-German native speakers.
Erasmus students follow a different admission procedure. Firstly, they should contact the relevant Erasmus Coordinator at their university to find out whether an Erasmus agreement exists in their subject area. After filling out the online application, students need to send a printed version of it along with the Erasmus certificate and the curriculum vitae to:
