comenius logo Comenius University, BratislavaComenius University in Bratislava is the Slovakia’s biggest university. Most of its faculties are located in Bratislava. It was founded in the same time with the creation of the state Czechoslovakia in 1919. The university is named after Jan Amos Comenius, one of the most world famous Slovaks, a Czech teacher and philosopher from the 17th century. Comenius University has around 30,000 students and 2,000 faculty members. It is public university, mostly financed by the government.

International cooperation

Comenius University is part of many University networks. Some of them are: EUA, European University Association; UNICA, Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe; UTRECHT NETWORK, network of prominent European universities; DRC, Danube Rectors’ Conference; CEI UniNet, Central European Initiative University Network. National Scholarship Programme

Visegrad Scholarship Program
Visegrad Fund offers Master’s and Post-Master’s scholarships for 1 or 2 semesters. Visegrad Fund website.

Fellowship Fund – SYLFF
SYLFF is one of the financial support opportunities at Comenius University. This is an educational program designed to provide financial assistance in the form of scholarships and fellowships to students enrolled in master‘s and doctoral programs, respectively, in the fields of humanities and social sciences. These funds are intended for future leaders in international affairs, in public life as well as in private endeavor through a wide range of courses in: International Relations Program with an Emphasis on Central Europe; Management and Administration Program for Public and Private Sectors; Development of Post-Communist Countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
