PhD Scholarships in Informatics, Vienna

The Vienna University of Technology offers a three year programme for national and international students interested in taking part in one of the five main research areas of the Faculty of Informatics:
- Business Informatics
- Computational Intelligence
- Computer Engineering
- Distributed and Parallel Systems
- Media Informatics and Visual Computing

Eligibility
In addition to academic qualifications and practical experience, students will be expected to show evidence of their interest in the course and research programme. Students must provide evidence of adequate English language qualifications (TOEFL, IELTS, CAE).

Scholarship
Each year up to 15 students (national/international) will be awarded a scholarship amounting to EUR 1.000 per month, to cover the cost of living.

Application procedure
The applicants need to fill the online application form and submit following documents:
1. Evidence of prior achievement: Degree certificate (Master degree or higher) of a post-secondary education institution, including course transcripts and an explanation of the grading system/s used in these degree certificate/s
2. Abstract of diploma / master thesis
3. CV
4. Motivation letter
5. At least two letters of recommendation (at least one of your referees should have a scientific background)
6. Certificate of English language proficiency
7. Scan of the applicant’s passport (only the pages with picture and personal data)
8. Officially certified transcripts of degree certificate/s (only for NON-EU-citizens (exl.Swiss nationals))
9. Optional: Research proposal detailing objective of research and methodological approach
