Fund: fixed stipend to cover housing, meals and ground transportation during the fellowship

The International Women’s Media Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2010-11 Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship, which is open to women journalists focusing on human rights and social justice. Recipients spend nine months in a tailor-made academic research program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. During that time, Neuffer fellows may also work with the Boston Globe or The New York Times.

Eligibility
The Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship is open to women journalists worldwide whose work focuses on human rights and social justice. Applicants must have a minimum of three years of experience in journalism. Non-native English speakers must also have excellent written and verbal English skills.

Fellowship
- a fixed stipend will be provided to cover housing, meals and ground transportation during the fellowship
- round-trip economy airfare will be covered from the fellow’s home country or city to Washington, D.C., and from Washington, D.C., to the fellowship city
- the fellow will also receive health insurance during the program
- for fellows from outside of the United States, the fellowship also covers the costs of applying for and obtaining a U.S. visa

The fellowship does not provide salary or honoraria.

Application procedure
The applicant should submit following documents:
1. Completed application form (including signature and date)
2. Two completed recommendation forms
3. English assessment form (for non-native English speakers only)
4. Current resume or CV
5. Samples of your work
