univerza v lj logo1 150x150 University of LjubljanaThe University of Ljubljana is one of the region’s universities with rich tradition. It is considered as large university, having around 63,000 students, both graduates and postgraduates. More than 4000 professors work at the 22 faculties, 3 arts academies and one university college.
UL was established in 1919 as first, but also remained the only Slovenian university for half a century. The University is based in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana, a city with more than 300.000 inhabitants. Students are one-seventh of the city’s population, contributing for a youthful and lively atmosphere.

The university’s central office and the majority of schools are situated in the centre of Ljubljana. Several newer and modern buildings of the University of Ljubljana are located on the city outskirts. The university is renowned for its quality study programes. Over one half of the study programmes in the 2007/2008 academic year will be offered in accordance with the Bologna Declaration.

Studying at UL

There are plenty of possibilities at the University of Ljubljana. Prospective students may select from among many humanistic, artistic, natural science, technimay humanistic, medical and several interdisciplinary study programmes. Everyone is sure to find  something to suit his or her personal interests, career interests and life objectives.
It is interesting that the students which will find that the chosen full-time study programme does not suit them, can transfer to a different full-time programme once without the loss of student status. Transfers between (shorter) higher education professional programmes and (longer, more demanding) university programmes are also possible.

Hello! My name is Daniel Stojcheski, and I am from Macedonia. I have heard that students who come from Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania and Croatia can study on your university and they not have to pay for studing on your university. Because The Ministry for education of R.Slovenia completely will pay their education, and also will give to the students scholarships.

Could you tell me more detales about this, please.

I hope that you will write to me as soon as you can.

    Thank you.
