Aerowaves: Dance across Europe
Call for: dance performances

Aerowaves is a Europe-wide project started in 1996, which brings together dance specialists from 32 countries to look at the work of young choreographers. For the last 14 years this has resulted in ten performance opportunities at The Place in London as part of the Resolution! festival as well as many other informal presentations around Europe.
Aerowaves is a cross-border dance performance network, which offers opportunities to younger artists working in Europe who wish to perform their work in other European countries during 2011.
Eligibility
* emerging choreographers and companies who have not yet done much touring abroad.
Application procedure
All interested artists should:
1. complete and submit an online application form
2. post 2 identical DVDs of the work they wish to present (with the company name, email address and the title of the work clearly marked) to following address:

This post puzzles me. Is it offering only a networking/performance opportunity or funds to enable those networking/performing opportunities as well?

How does it work?
Artists complete an online application by 20 September 2010 and send 2 identical DVDs to London of the work they wish to present. They may now add performance dates for the proposed work under ‘Candidates’ in the Aerowaves calendar. The Aerowaves partners meet to assess the DVDs in late October and their advice helps the Presenters in choosing works for the following year. The performance opportunities above are confirmed; however, each year other informal opportunities arise and work has been presented through Aerowaves in the majority of the countries represented at the meeting.

Thank you for your response. Since this event offers no funds for the performers I think it fits more closely into the training and conferences category, or even contests, than it does with jobs and internships.
