Open to: Anyone outside of Iran who would like to study any form of medical sciences in Iran
Scholarship: 3,000 to 15,000 US$ per year
Description
The Chancellor of Tehran University of Medical Sciences and the President of the International Campus are pleased to announce their first round of scholarships to foreign students who are interested to pursue their studies at TUMS-IC. The University offers schoarships in following study degrees:
Undergraduate Degrees:
- M.D. or Doctor of Medicine
- D.D.S. or Doctor of Dental Surgery
- Pharm.D. or Doctor in Pharmacy
- B.Sc.
Graduate degrees:
- M.Sc.
- Ph.D.
- Subspecialty
- Fellowship
- Specialty
The students will study on the following hosting schools: School of Medicine; School of Dentistry; School of Pharmacy; School of Advanced Technology in Medicine; School of Allied Health Sciences; School of Public Health; School of Nursing and Midwifery; School of Rehabilitation.

Scholarships
TUMS Scholarship Program is a scholarship program set up by TUMS-IC to encourage international students and scholars to pursue their studies and research at TUMS-IC. The scholarship aims to increase the mutual understanding and scientific exchange of scholars and students of Iran, and scholars and students from other parts of the world. TUMS is the best university in the field of medical sciences in Iran and it has been ranked the second-best medical university in the Middle East. The value of the scholarship varies from 3,000 to 15,000 US$. The scholarship covers students’ first transport from the airport, housing, partial food plans, computer labs, sports and student union membership, library, and Internet access.
For example, if you are wishing to pursue a masters degree in nursing, you must have a Bachelors degree in nursing.
Eligibility
Qualifications:
- For undergraduate level of studies: the applicant must have finished high school.
- For graduate level of studies: the applicant must have obtained an undergraduate degree in the field related to her/his desired field of study.
Language Proficiency: The teaching language will be in English. The applicant need to have proof of English language ability to write, read, and understand. Our official language is Persian/Farsi and we will assist those who wish to pursue their education in Persian/Farsi
Eligibility: The scholarship is only for non-Iranian citizens.
How to apply?
1. You will apply online. The linkto apply online can be found here.
2. The University representatives will send you an email informing you that your application has been received.
3. You will be asked to submit supporting documents.
4. All of your documents will be gathered and a profile for you will be created.
5. Your profile will be taken to the Selection Committee. In the Selection Committee meeting, representatives of departments will review your profile and will decide about your candidacy. Please note that the Selection Committee meeting takes place once per week. All profiles are reviewed one by one and with serious attention. Your gender and country of residency are not important. Your grades, publications, letter of motivation, work experience, letters of recommendation are important to the Selection Committee. The level of your English language is also important.
6. Once the Selection Committee has reviewed your profile we will notify you about your status. A letter of admission (acceptance) or a letter of refusal will be sent to you.
The application deadline is 31 December 2011.

i haven't taken TOEFL/IELTS…i am from nepal and english is not my native language but i did my undergraduate from dhaka university,bangladesh and i have dean's letter citing my undergraduate courses were conducted fully in english….will that work in place of TOEFL/IELTS score?

Salamualaikum
My father is Pakistani my mother is Irani I was born in Iran having an Iranian Passport presently living in Pakistan since childhood. I have studied from frist year of school till 12th year of school in Pakistan in english lanuage. I can speak Farsi but I cannot read and write well in Farsi. Am I eligibile for this scholership?

So, if you have an Iranian passport, then you must have an Iranian citizenship as well, which would make you ineligible for this scholarship. For Jan 2013, to my information they haven't started sending out the selection result.

I am not clear with this scholarship please. Do I need to come to TUMS to pay the rest expense by my own ??? Is it fair to pay all my PhD expense for five year by my own ??? I really don,t feel that it is a scholarship as i am still expected to pay lots of money for my living expense. I feel like there should be some few pocket scholarship money to cover at least my basic food expenditure. or there should be a job for poor students like me who cant afford to pay living expense. please guys can you say something over my worry.
I already have the Phd tution fee admission.

Housing + partial food plans, that should secure your living expenses if you have won this scholarship. It is clearly specified and if you have any other concerns about the scholarship, please contact the TUMS's contact persons.

After you applied they must have sent you an interim code….When you do call him to ask about your admission status keep your code near you as that is how they sort out applicants…
Also you said that you applied three weeks ago…The application deadline for entry into January 2013 was in August…so when you call make sure to mention that to them…Ask them to consider you…

Considering that it is a country where English isn't widely spoken…
For the anatomy course in the international campus, would anatomy be taught using latin terms or the standard english terms…ie. while referring to the anatomy of the aorta, would the term Arch of the Aorta (standard english) be used or Arcus Aorta (the latin term)…
I'm not sure whether standard english term is the right terminology but it is the best I could come up with…
