Prize: US$5,000 for first place and US$2,500 each for best image and best multimedia

Description

BD is a medical technology company that develops, manufactures and sells medical devices, instrument systems and reagents. The Company is dedicated to improving people’s health throughout the world.

The power of a photograph cannot be overstated, and BD relies on imagery to tell stories about a wide range of diseases in which its people, products and initiatives play a significant role.

Judges include David Griffin of the The Washington Post, Jon Jones of Sunday Times Magazine, U.K. and Kira Pollack of Time magazine. All winners’ work will become part of Hope for a Healthy World Photo Exhibition, a traveling global health exhibit sponsored by BD that will debut at LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph in Charlottesville, Virginia.

All Winners Will Receive:

Eligiblity

Amateur and professional photographers worldwide can enter a contest. There is no entry fee for this competition.

Criteria

An entry consists of one image or one story. A story includes up to ten images that focus on a particular theme. You may enter as many photographs as you like. You should submit JPEG images saved with max quality compression with a long dimension of at least 1,000 pixels at 72 to 300 dpi with either Adobe1998, sRGB or untagged color space. Due to the high volume of submissions, it is not possible for organizers to return entries.

Winners will be contacted on or around April 2, 2012.
