For this reason I got myself involved in Y-PEER (Youth Peer Education Network) which is a global youth network that aims to promote a healthy life style through peer to peer approach and to empower young people to make responsible decisions. Pioneered and supported by UNFPA, the Y-PEER network not only gives opportunities for young people to get involved as trainers and peer educators in sexual and reproductive health, but it also has amazing international partner organizations where young people could work as fellows and gain unforgettable experience.

The Mara Foundation provides aid to groups of people on the Balkans without distinguishing between ethnic groups. Over the past 18 years, Mara Foundation had offered help in places where people (due to economic and political reasons) did not have proper access to regular medical care. Since the maiden transport in 1993, the students of the Mara Foundation have organized more than 100 humanitarian transports with medical equipment to Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Serbia, Croatia, Macedonia and Montenegro.

On the one hand we have a very varied range of music shows: from hardcore techno to singer/songwriter, hip hop and rock music, you can find every style that moves the youth today. On the other hand we also have more theme-related shows, as for example a campus radio show done by students from the University of Luxembourg; a youth magazine with different interviews and features and a show coordinated by the youth section of an NGO working on North-South issues.

Being an international student abroad is not as easy as it might seem. Studying abroad is a challenge, and is often strewn with “difficult moments”. Adjusting to a new environment can pose certain challenges. When you go to study in a foreign country, you face a different culture, a different way of life, a different society. That is why a group of students from the University of Bonn in Germany, decided to start an initiative called “Geo2gether”, whose aim is to help with the orientation and socialization of international students reading geography at the University of Bonn.

Your endeavours for a better society should always start by enunciating MJAFT!. But, you shouldn’t stop here. Going the extra mile is what counts. Say yes to romantic and idealistic inclinations, but also be firm in your actions in making these ideas work. Karolina Mroz is the most high-spirited, boisterous, ebullient, energetic, enthusiastic, exuberant, fun-loving and vivacious person I have ever had the privilege to meet. It seems that the adjectives I have listed above only attempt to describe the true essence of her personality.
