The University of Cyprus is a public university based in the Capital of Cyprus, Nicosia. It was the first university to be established in 1989 in Cyprus. University has over 5,000 students enrolled in 73 graduate and 31 undergraduate programmes.

The Cyprus University of Technology is a young university established in 2004. It is based in Lemesos, the second largest city in Cyprus. Its first intake of students was for the academic year 2007-08.
