The University of Tartu includes ten faculties, five colleges and several regional development units, it is Estonia’s leading centre of research and training, and the university has entered into bilateral co-operation agreements with 48 partner institutions in 19 countries. The robust research potential of the university is evidenced by the fact that it is the only Baltic university that has been invited to join the Coimbra Group, a prestigious club of renowned research universities. There are currently nearly 16,000 students enrolled, among them 650 international degree and exchange students.</p></blockquote>

<p>The University of Tartu promotes the concept of life- long learning bybringing high-quality education and offers a wide range of degree and short-term study programmes taught in English or other foreign languages.</p>

<p>The Study Information System provides updated information about courses and study programmes available at the university, enables students to see timetables, register for courses and examinations and to keep an eye on their academic progress. All  internationalstudents admitted to the university are given a password in order to use the system for the aforementioned purposes.  However, the system also allows users to access general information, such as courses and programmes offered, without a password.</p>

<p>There are multiple opportunities for international students who come to study for a semester or two through exchange programmes. The major and most widely used options are: ERASMUS , ISEP , inter-university agreements and intergovernmental agreements .<br />
Prospective exchange students should contact the appropriate international office at their home university before mailing their application materials. All application documents must be sent directly to the International Student Service, not to the programme to be attended or related faculty.<br />

<p>The applicants who want to apply for visiting students status have to be currently enrolled at a university/higher education institution that do not have an existing co-operation agreement with the University of Tartu which allows student exchange between institutions. Visiting students can study at the University of Tartu for up to one year and need to pay for their studies.<br />

<p>Tallinn University is the third largest university in Estonia, consisting of 6 faculties (Fine Arts, Educational Sciences, Physical Education, Philology, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Social Sciences), 2 academic institutes (Institute of History, Estonian Institute of Humanities), the Baltic Film and Media School as well as 4 research institutes (Institute of Estonian Demography, Institute of Ecology, Institute of Educational Research, Institute of International and Social Studies) and 4 colleges. It has more than 9000 students as well as more than 500 faculty members and research fellows, and is the fastest growing university in Estonia. With its 8 academic degree programmes and a number of shorter programmes and courses offered in the English language it is one of the most international university in the Baltic area.</p>
<h3>How to apply</h3>
<p>Tallinn University uses the 3+2 system (i.e. three years of bachelor studies + two years of master studies). There are 49 specialist areas at the bachelor level, 70 at the master level and 12 at the doctoral level.<br />

<p>Admission to the international programs of Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia) has been most successful in the autumn of 2009. The number of international students is bigger for 33, 8% compared to the last year. Tallinn University of Technology (TUT) enrolled 127 international students in 2009.</p>
<h3>How to apply</h3>
<p>Tallinn University of Technology offers a wide variety of educational degree programmes in the bachelor, master and doctoral level, which include both traditional and new fields of modern technology and business.</p>
<p>International Programs at TUT focus on three study fields: Information Technology, Business Administration and Engineering.<br />
- Bachelor level applicants are required to have completed their secondary education and possess university eligibility. According to the Estonian legislation for admission to higher education institutions applicants should have achieved at least 50% of the possible graduation score.<br />
- Master level applicants are required to have completed Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent.<br />

<h3>Student Scholarships and Exchanges</h3>
<p>All PhD students at Tallinn University of Technology can study free of tuition fees and receive additional support from the University and Estonian Ministry of Education. Also every year a limited number of tuition scholarships providing exemption from tuition fee will be available to international students for the following Master degree programmes:<br />

EXCHANGE STUDENTS</strong> &#8211; students who come to study at TUT in the frames of exchange programmes (e.g ERASMUS) or bilateral agreements for one semester up to one academic year, do not pay tuition fee.<br />
VISITING STUDENTS (free-movers) are coming to TUT for a short period (one semester up to one academic year) without any cooperation agreement. They pay the tuition fee.</p>
