Dublin City University (DCU)

Dublin City University is located in the capital of the Republic of Ireland. It was established in 1975 under the name National Institute for Higher Education, Dublin. It wasn’t until 1989 that it acquired its university status. Considered unconventional at the time, Dublin City University was the first university in Ireland that introduced interdisciplinary studies, meaning that for example science students could take business courses, business students could take languages and language students could take computing.
