Every year, more than 2,000 international students and researchers stay in Utrecht for variable periods of time. The English curriculum consists of 4 Bachelor&#8217;s degree programmes, 109 Master’s degree programmes, some 200 certificate courses, and more than 75 Summer School courses.</p></blockquote>
<h3><strong>Studying</strong></h3>
<p>The University has been located in Utrecht’s historical, medieval town centre. The inner city campus comprises of two faculties. The other faculties are situated at the Uithof Campus, east of the town centre. The Faculty of Medicine is co-governed by University Medical Center Utrecht. A third campus, just outside the town centre, is home to University College Utrecht, Utrecht University’s international undergraduate college.</p>

<p>The UU offers English bachelor-, master-, exchange- and PhD programmes. There are also Summer Schools. <a target="_blank" href="http://www.uu.nl/EN/education/programmes/Pages/default.aspx" target="_blank">Here</a> you can find more information about the programmes.</p>
<h3><span style="font-size: 15px; font-weight: 800;">International orientation</span></h3>
<p>Utrecht University has many exchange programmes for students, staff and scientists, and 50 per cent of the graduate programmes are taught in English. Utrecht Summer School is specifically aimed at international students, offering over 60 academic courses. <a target="_blank" href="http://mladiinfo.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/foto18hz0.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-3685" style="margin: 5px;" title="Utrecht University" src="http://mladiinfo.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/foto18hz0-300x200.jpg" alt="foto18hz0 300x200 Utrecht University" width="300" height="200" /></a></p>
<p>Every year, the graduate and exchange programmes attract some 1,900 international students from 125 different countries. Also teachers from abroad are invited to participate in these programmes, thus contributing to an international learning environment for Dutch students as well.</p>
<p>International students who arrive in Utrecht can fall back on dedicated facilities, such as the <em>Utrecht Feel at Home Service</em>, which, among other things, offers help in finding accommodation and making visa applications.</p>
<h3><strong>Scholarship information</strong></h3>
<p>Utrecht University set up its own scholarship fund: the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.uu.nl/EN/informationfor/internationalstudents/financialmatters/grantsandscholarships/utrechtexcellencescholarships/Pages/default.aspx" target="_blank">Utrecht Excellence Scholarships</a>. This scholarship is for outstanding prospective students who are applying for a Bachelor&#8217;s programme in Economics or at University College Utrecht or for a specific master programme.</p>
<p>The Dutch Government and other organisations also offer scholarships, fellowships and grants. It is successor of the Athenaeum Illustre (1632). Has more than 28,000 students, 5,000 staff and a budget of over 487 million euros and it is placed among the largest comprehensive universities in Europe. It belongs to the League of European Research Universities and maintains intensive contact with universities all over the world.<br />
The UvA has a broad academic curriculum. They publish about 7,500 academic articles annually. The University&#8217;s academic research is at the top of the international league in many respects, and the applied research programmes are often of an interdisciplinary nature and are frequently focus on social issues.</p></blockquote>
<h3>Studying</h3>
<p>At the UvA, education and research are conducted in the seven faculties: the Humanities, the Social and Behavioural Sciences, Economics and Business, Law, the Natural Sciences, Medicine and Dentistry.<br />
The UvA aims to offer an inspiring, broadly-oriented international academic environment where both staff and students can develop their capacities optimally. The UvA is characterised by a critical, creative and international atmosphere, and is open-minded and strongly engaged with society. Because the UvA is located in both historic and modern buildings spread throughout Amsterdam, the University forms an integral part of the city.<br />
The University of Amsterdam offers 62 bachelor&#8217;s programmes in Dutch and more than 100 international programmes fully taught in English, as well as a range of exchange courses.</p>

<h3>Tuition fees</h3>
<p>Tuition fees for the 2009-2010 academic year are as follows:<br />
•    Master&#8217;s students from non-EU/EEA countries: €9,000<br />
•    Bachelor&#8217;s students from non-EU/EEA countries: €7,000<br />
•    Full-time EU/EEA students under 30: €1,620<br />
•    Full-time EU/EEA students over 30: €1,945<br />
Please note that the tuition fees for international students are the same regardless of whether the student is enrolled in full-time or part-time study.<br />
2010-2011 Fees for Master&#8217;s students from non-EU/EEA countries are expected to increase to €12,000. Please check carefully which costs apply using the &#8216;tuition wizard&#8217;.<br />
Students who started a multi-year programme in 2006-2007 will also be charged the higher fees from 2007-2008 onwards.</p>

<p>One of the best known is the Amsterdam Merit Scholarships, intended to attract the world’s brightest students to UvA international classrooms. <h3>Studying in Leiden</h3>
<p>The University consists of 6 faculties, a School of Education (teacher training), and a Campus in The Hague. The University houses the faculties of Archaeology, Humanities, Law, Medicine/LUMC (Leiden University Medical Center), Mathematics and Natural Sciences and Social and Behavioural Sciences.</p>
<p>The faculties offer a varied range of bachelor&#8217;s, master&#8217;s and PhD programmes. In addition, three other units offer post-academic training: the Institute for Environmental Sciences (CML), the School of Education (ICLON) and Campus The Hague. The latter specialises in post-academic training in the field of law and political science for those working in the public sector, the legal sector or the corporate world.</p>

The language of instruction for most programmes is English and for some Dutch. A number of Language and Culture programmes are taught in French, German, Italian and Spanish.</p>

<h3>International orientation</h3>
<p>The University is a participant in the European Union&#8217;s Socrates/Erasmus programme and is a member of the Coimbra group and the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.leru.org/" target="_blank">League of European Research Universities</a>. The League is a joint venture of 12 European top research institutes. Since December 2004, European research cooperation has taken place in the master phase of Non-Western studies within the framework of the European League of Non-Western Studies.</p>

<p>Among the others Leiden University offers so called <a target="_blank" href="http://www.leidenuniv.nl/en/studyinleiden/lexs.htm" target="_blank">Leiden University Excellence Scholarship 2009/10 </a>for excellent non-EU students who enrol in a full-time Leiden University master&#8217;s programme in 2009/2010. There is also Leonardo, Socrates or Tempus opportunities, Fullbright, Ford Foundation, Soros Suplementary Grant Programme etc.</p>
