<h3>Studying</h3>
<p>UW offers 37 major fields and over 100 specializations in the Humanities and Earth, Social, and Natural Sciences. Around 19 000 young people enroll as students at the University of Warsaw each year.<br />
University of Warsaw has 19 faculties and 25 independent research and education units. The education process takes place in 100 buildings within three campuses in different parts of Warsaw: the main Campus (central Warsaw), Ochota Campus and Sluzhew Campus. The University is constantly tailoring its research programs and curricula to the changing world. UW students have easy access to the latest research and literature in each discipline they study.<br />
The University of Warsaw offers various academic degree programmes at the 1st (Bachelor), 2nd (Master) and 3rd (Doctoral) level in 80 fields of study. There are long-term degree and short-term non-degree programmes available in Polish, English, and other languages.</p>

<p>University of Warsaw cooperates with the most renowned educational institutions in a host of foreign countries. In 2007 over 160 universities from 49 countries of the world cooperated with UW through bilateral agreements, and over 330 were partners within the European Union’s Erasmus programme. Over 1400 young people from over 170 countries have selected the University of Warsaw as the place to pursue their education.<br />
English speaking students could choose some of the following study programmes: BA Philosophy Studies; Executive MBA; MA Program in European Finance and Banking; MA Program in International Relations; MA Program in Political Science etc.<br />

<p>Tuition fees for studies in English at the University of Warsaw vary from 2.000 euros for EU/EFTA students to 3.000 and 4.000 euros for non-EU citizens, depanding on the program.</p>

It was founded in 1364, and is unavoidable part of Krakow&#8217;s life for almost 650 years. It played very important role in the European education, so even in the 15th century almost half of the entire student population was coming from abroad.  Today, with the number of different programs, growing curriculum, and of course offering education on different languages, JU is once again attracting a big number of the world&#8217;s best students to its ancient halls and modern campus. Being recognised worldwide, the JU is a member of the European University Association, Coimbra Group and the Utrecht Network.</p></blockquote>
<p>It has almost 46 000 students, 3657 academic teachers and almost 500 distinguished professors.  JU provides 93 professionally focused course areas in the most notable fields. For the past few years, JU has consistently occupied top positions in various rankings of the best universities in Poland. Its degrees are recognized worldwide.</p>
<h3>International students</h3>
<p>JU offers different  courses in English and other foreign languages for the international students. Some of these courses are: MA in European Studies; MA in Central &amp; Eastern European Studies; MA in English, MSc in Biotechnology Literature, Studies in Medicine etc.<br />

<p>The International Students Office provides students with the different information and refers to the relevant institutes for academic details. All international students must first register at this Office.<br />
International students may also join a summer school programme offered by the university or learn about Polish language and culture. Interested students should contact the respective schools directly.<br />
The International Students Office, as the admissions office of the Jagiellonian University, provides information and counselling for foreign students wishing to study at this institution.</p>
<h3>Fees and scholarships</h3>
<p>Programmes in foreign languages are mostly fee-paying for all students. Non-degree programmes are fee-paying for all<a target="_blank" href="http://mladiinfo.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/jagielonian_university1.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-832 alignright" style="margin: 5px;" title="jagielonian_university1" src="http://mladiinfo.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/jagielonian_university1.jpg" alt="jagielonian university1 Jagiellonian University, Krakow " width="283" height="212" /></a> students except exchange students (e.g. ERASMUS).<br />
Foreign citizens having also Polish citizenship or a Polish permanent residence card are treated as Polish citizens (exempt from paying tuition fees for regular studies in Polish). EU citizens are also treated as Polish citizens (exempt from paying tuition fees for regular studies in Polish). However, they are not entitled to doctoral scholarships or social financial aid given to some Polish students. Holders of the Polish Government Scholarship, other government scholarships or scholarships granted by other institutions are exempt from paying tuition fees.</p>
<p><strong>Polish Government Scholarships<br />
</strong>Polish Government Scholarships are awarded to academic staff and students based n mutual agreements between countries. International students applying for the Polish Government Scholarship should enquire and submit suitable documents at Polish Embassies and Consulates in their countries of residence. Their applications are later sent to the Jagiellonian University by the Bureau for Academic Recognition and International Exchange in Warsaw.<br />

<p>The marine image of the university is enhanced by its fields of  study, specialisations and scientific research connected with the sea  and with the Baltic coast in particular. This concerns, above all, the  Faculties of Biology, Oceanography and Geography, and such subjects as  Biology, Geography, Environmental Protection and Oceanography (Gdansk is  the only place in Poland where this subject can be studied). <p>Foreign students can study at the University of Gdansk either in the  Polish or in the English language. The university offers intensive  preparatory courses enabling foreign students to study in these  languages.</p>

In addition to its facilities in Poznan, it has campuses in Gniezno, Kalisz, Pila and Slubice. The University serves 47 000 students (67% women, 1 000 international) with 14 faculties  offering BA, MA and PhD programmes.</p></blockquote>
<h3>International students</h3>
<p>International students can choose to  study either as a guest, exchange or Erasmus student (<a target="_blank" href="http://old.amu.edu.pl/erasmus/info-eng.php" target="_blank">more  info</a>) for one or two  semesters, or as a degree student pursuing a degree from Adam  Mickiewicz University. The main language of instruction is Polish, however AMU also offers international degree programmes and selected course units taught in English, French and Spanish.</p>
<p>Most  exchange students come to AMU through an institutional exchange  agreement, an international exchange programme such as Erasmus (<a target="_blank" href="http://www.amu.edu.pl/en/about-us/education/degree-list/exchange-students/partner-universities-erasmus--llp">Partner   Universities: ERASMUS / LLP</a>) or a  governmental bilateral agreement. Contact your  own educational institution to find out about the possibilities of  studying at AMU as an exchange student. If it is not possible to come to AMU through an agreement your home institution has  signed with AMU, you should contact AMU <a target="_blank" href="mailto:dwzuam@amu.edu.pl">International Office</a> or <a target="_blank" href="mailto:amu-pie@amu.edu.pl">AMU-PIE</a> to enquire about the option  of coming as a guest (visiting) student.</p>

<p>Some degree programmes are taught in other languages. AMU offers some BA programs taught in English and German, MA programmes in English, German and Dutch and individual PhD research programmes in English. Founded by Leopold I Habsburg the university evolved from a modest school run by Jesuits into one of the biggest academic institutions in Poland. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the University  produced 9 Nobel Prize winners. Today the University of Wroclaw is the largest university in the region  and teaches over 40,000 students and around 1300 doctoral students at 10  Faculties.</p></blockquote>
<h3>International cooperation</h3>
<p>The University of Wroclaw cooperates with many foreign institutions  of higher education. Each year, its departments admit approximately 600  students from throughout Europe. In recent years, the University has been  participating in large European exchange programs such as LLP-Erasmus,  Leonardo da Vinci, CEEPUS and Erasmus Mundus. Outside  the EU, the University has special bilateral agreements with  academic institutions from Russia, the Ukraine, Kazakhstan and USA.</p>
<h3>Study in English</h3>
<p>The University offers a broad range of courses taught in Polish and  English in over 70 areas of study offered by 10 Faculties: philology,  history and pedagogy, social sciences, law, administration and  economics, mathematics and computer science, chemistry, physics and  astronomy, biotechnology, biological sciences, and earth science and  environmental management.<br />
All Faculties at the University provide at least one master&#8217;s program in English and some at the bachelor level; these in addition to the extensive number of programs offered in the Polish language. <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>English Language Requirements</strong><br />
UWr accepts two tests of English proficiency: IELTS and TOEFL. <h3>LLP Erasmus</h3>
<p>Students from European universities may spend one or two semesters at the University of Wroclaw and they are officially nominated by their home Erasmus coordinator. After being nominated for Erasmus:<br />

<h3>Scholarships</h3>
<p><strong>Polish Government Scholarship</strong><br />
Detailed information with respect to this issue may be obtained at the Polish Embassy in a relevant country. In order to receive the scholarship, the candidates have to pass an examination determining their familiarity with the Polish language and general knowledge. Candidates with best results may study in Poland as holders of the Polish Government Scholarship (2010, the scholarship amounts to PLN 900 per month). <h3>International  cooperation</h3>
<p>Research and education are strongly influenced by international   cooperation with over 250 partner universities all over the world. Over   1000 scientists from European, American, Asian and Australian   universities and several dozens of international students pass through   the university every year. Students enrolled in programmes in English may learn Polish for one semester free of charge.</p>

Now this University, located in the 5 cities of the region: Katowice, Sosnowiec, Chorzów, Cieszyn, and Rybnik, is one of the most prestigious universities in Upper Silesia and one of the biggest public universities in Poland. The University of Silesia collaborates with about 300 universities from all over the world exchanging students and academic staff and conducting joint educational and research projects.</p></blockquote>
<h3>Studying</h3>
<p>The University of Silesia offers various programmes in 4 educational areas: Art, Humanities, Science and Social Sciences. Students may find 41 programmes and 100 specializations approved by the Ministry of Education at the 12 faculties and several independent, interdisciplinary units that are part of this University.</p>
<p>Students are educated at three educational levels: Bachelor, Master and Doctoral. Graduates who would like to develop their qualifications may choose among about 60 postgraduate studies which are included in the educational offer of the university.</p>
<h3>Students’ facilities</h3>
<p>Different University’s facilities provide excellent conditions for learning and carrying out other activities which are important in a student&#8217;s everyday life.<br />
Students are offered accommodation in the students hostels in Katowice, Sosnowiec, and Cieszyn. The university campus also includes canteens and students clubs. There are a large number of libraries accessible to the students. The oldest and the biggest library in the region of Upper Silesia, the Silesian Library, has over 1,800,000 printed, cartographic, iconographic and audio-visual volumes. Students interested in sport can join the Academic Sports Association, which offers about 32 sports including: judo, yoga, ju-jitsu, karate, bridge, chess, skiing, horse riding, volleyball, basketball, and many others.</p>

International students get special back up from the Department of International Relations and Projects. Students are supported by Student Affairs Office, Careers Office and Student Government. Thanks to those units students have a possibility to join students associations, participate in the meetings with employers and get detailed information about studies, accommodation, Deans&#8217; offices, financial support and cultural or sport events.</p>
<h3>Polish language courses</h3>
<p>The Summer School for Polish Language, Literature and Culture in Cieszyn is certainly one of the best programmes of the University and probably the best Polish language course in the country. Cieszyn is a picturesque, old town at the foot of the Beskidy Mountains on the border between Poland and the Czech Republic (70 km south of Katowice). Classes are held from Monday to Friday. The Intensive Polish Language course (four hours a day) is accompanied by the following extra classes involving conversation. Students from all around the world, come every year to learn the language but also to spend a great summer and Cieszyn is certainly a place for that.<br />
The Summer School lasts four weeks in August. The cost of the course is 680 EUR.</p>
