Kharkiv University has trained and employed three Nobel Prize laureates: the biologist I. Mechnikov, the economist S. Kuznets, and the physicist L. Landau. <p><strong>How to Apply to NTUU KPI</strong></p>
<p>To apply to NTUU KPI you must fill online Application. To submit an Application you need to know the Degree and Specialization/Academic Program you plan to receive, the Institute or College you plan to study in; you need to decide the source of funding, and to open an online account. You shall submit also the copies of your Passport (only first page with photo), Diplomas/Certificates, and Transcripts translated either in Ukrainian, Russian, or English.</p>
<p>All international students who come to study at NTUU KPI are offered one year intensive study of Ukrainian language or Russian Language, which will be the main language of teaching, and to improve their knowledge of main subjects according to the future Degree, e.g. mathematics, physics, chemistry, etc., at the Preparatory School of NTUU KPI.</p>

<h3>Preparatory school</h3>
<p id="content_text2">Since 1992 the <a target="_blank" href="http://inter.kpi.ua/preparatoryschool.php" target="_blank">Preparatory School </a>helps  international students to get ready for the study in Ukrainian  universities. During the academic year international students study  Ukrainian or Russian languages, and advanced courses of Mathematics,  Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economics, etc.</p>
<p>Today the University offers a wide range of 77 Academic Programs / Majors.</p>
<p>International students can get a Degree studying in Ukrainian or Russian within any Academic Program.</p>
<p>International students can get their Degree studying in English only within following academic programs: 2.1. Aircrafts and Helicopters; 10.1. Aircraft Control Systems; 15.1. Computer Systems and Networks; 16.1. Intelligent Decision Making Systems, 29.2. Electronic Systems; 30.1. Mechanical Engineering Technology; 70.1. Control and Automation Systems; and 72.2. Telecommunication Systems and Networks.</p>
<h3>Summer school</h3>
<p>The <a target="_blank" href="http://summerschool.ssa.org.ua/" target="_blank">Summer School</a> “Achievements and Applications of Contemporary Informatics, Mathematics and Physics” is an annual project organized and held by Student Science Association and the National Technical University of Ukraine “KPI”. The prior aim of the project is to promote science among youth.</p>
<p>It usually takes place in August during 2 weeks and puts together international lecturers and young people intrested in science. Lecturers will provide the environment where the participants will be able to experience the international discussions on the hot topics of contemporary science and technology.</p>

<p><a target="_blank" href="http://www.pfku.univ.kiev.ua/" target="_blank">The Preparatory Faculty</a> is a teaching and research institution which combines the preparation of both Ukrainian and foreign citizens for studies in all majors at Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University and for study at other educational institutions in Ukraine.</p>
<p>Preparation Department provides preliminary training for foreigners in both Ukrainian and Russian (at student&#8217;s option), who are planning to study at National Taras Shevchenko University or other higher educational institutions in any academic major.</p>
<p>Preparation Department&#8217;s curricula and syllabi are oriented towards the major subject of subsequent student&#8217;s study at a university, namely: engineering and natural sciences, medical-biological and agrarian, economics, and humanities (including music, figurative arts and choreography).</p>
<p>Preparation Department&#8217;s graduates receive Certificate which allows them to enroll to any higher educational institution in Ukraine without selection and admission exams just on the basis of interview and payment as per contract.</p>

<p>Preparation Department issues invitations to study, accepts applications, concludes contracts with legal and physical bodies and enrolls freshmen on the year-round basis.<br />
In order to enable prospective students to enter Ukraine, Preparation Department issues them official invitation letters, by means of which they can qualify for entrance visas at Ukrainian embassies.</p>
<p>In order to receive official invitation letter to study at Preparation Department, an applicant should provide the following information: first name and surname, date of birth, passport number, address of residence, and place of submission of visa application (country and city with the General Consulate of Ukraine).</p>

<p>NaUKMA has <strong>Ukrainian and English</strong> as its official languages. Intermediate level of English is a NaUKMA admission requirement. <h3>Admission</h3>
<p>Main documents to be presented at the IFNU by the candidates are:<br />
- Personal application form,<br />
- Notarized copy of the Certificate of education with grades obtained,<br />
- Certificate of health with the results of HIV-test with the indication of fitness  to study in Ukraine,<br />
- Copy of Birth Certificate and six 4&#215;6 photographs.<br />
- Medical Insurance Policy<br />
- Roundtrip airplane ticket with open date of return or a copy of the e-ticket form.</p>
<p>Additionally, the IFNU requires submission of the following documents:<br />
- A copy of applicant’s passport<br />
- Official evidence of financial resources necessary to cover both tuition fee for the whole term of study and related costs, issued by a bank in the student home country or by an applicant’s sponsor.</p>
<p>Admission procedure is completed by signing the agreement between the applicant (or his/her agent) and the IFNU.</p>
<p>International students enter Ukraine within the period of time from 15 Aug. to 15 Nov.</p>
<p>In Ukraine the academic year is divided into two semesters:<br />
Fall semester: September – January<br />
Spring semester: February – July</p>

<p>3)      Upon confirmation of your application with a positive reply  from PSIS, mail your supporting documents to the IFNU of Lviv at the PSIS address.<br />
4)      Applicants will receive a Letter of Offer stating the course that he/she has been accepted into and including fees to be paid as well as a copy of Agreement for study.<br />
5)      Sign the Agreement form. Return the Agreement to IFNU in Lviv or to your agent.<br />
6)      Upon receipt of this documents, we will issue and mail out the invitation to enter Ukraine and a Letter of Confirmation. Students must present this Invitation and the Letter to Ukrainian Embassy/Consulate for their home country to obtain a Student Visa.</p>

<h3>Preparatory School for International Students</h3>
<p>Preparatory School for International Students (PSIS) offers language instruction in the Ukrainian language in Lviv, Ukraine. The School teach international students in the Ukrainian language and traditions as well as provide additional preparation for their future study programs in the universities of Ukraine. Since 1975 approximately 3000 students from more than 62 countries have been taught. Students usually live in dormitories. The students are provided with two/three-bed room in a students&#8217; hostel. All the university facilities like libraries, computer centre, sport complexes as well as polyclinic service are available for them. Upon completion of a course a formal certificate is awarded. The classes start normally in September.</p>

PSIS offers one- and/or two-semester intensive language courses for individuals or small groups.</p>
<p><strong>Ukrainian for Academic Purposes</strong><br />
A 10-month language and academic preparation course for those who will subsequently pursue a university degree at an Ukrainian university. The objective of the course is to develop the listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities of the international students by learning the Ukrainian in connection with other subjects. The range of subjects depends on the field of the future university study.</p>
<p><strong>UAP &#8211; Fields of study</strong><br />

- Technical-Engineering<br />
- The University fields (e.g. economics, humanities, law, computer science, mathematics, natural sciences etc.)</p>
<p><strong>Ukrainian for Specific Purposes</strong><br />
A 1-to-5-month course in the Ukrainian language for:<br />
- Postgraduate students. (Ukrainian language and professional terminology necessary for subsequent activity, e.g. research or business. Each class has its own specific program.)<br />
- Those applicants, who would like to study Ukraine or international students wishing to further their studies. Each class has its own specific program.</p>
<p><strong>Summer Course of Ukrainian</strong><br />
A six-week intensive language and area course developed to provide a basic understanding/improvement of the language, insight into life, culture, history, economics etc. of Ukraine. For beginners and for advanced students.<strong></strong></p>
